generally good stay

hotel locationtasty foodfree beveragesair conditioningmain roadloud doors
The hotel location is near many walking trails. the in-house restaurant offered tasty food. free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were available all day. I even enjoyed cake after 4 pm.
The room i stayed in lacked air conditioning. i had to use a small, ineffective fan to cool the room. the room faced a main road and the noise was very loud with the window open. The doors also banged loudly when other guests closed them.

wonderful hotel stay

cinema roomfriendly welcomecomfortable roomprivacy issue
the hotel had a cinema room and a lounge with board games i also found complimentary tea coffee and cookies at four pm the staff were helpful and friendly. i appreciated the modern comfortable and fully stocked room neil at reception gave a supremely efficient and friendly welcome. the hotel had a retreat lobby it felt tender to spend time there reading or relaxing.
the bedroom window went to the floor giving little privacy from the car park the noisy electric fan bothered me. voices of other guests outside car noise and frequent trains on the nearby sheffield to manchester train line made it hard to sleep i found these noises disturbing.

adequate stay with some noise issues

helpful staffdog friendlytraffic noisewindow ventilation
the staff seemed friendly and helpful. a wash area for muddy boots was available, quite useful after a hike. the food at the bareca restaurant was consistently good for both breakfast and dinner.. i was happy with that. the hotel being dog friendly was another plus.
my room faced the main road, and traffic noise was noticeable. with the window open, hearing the television was difficult.. closing it helped a bit, but didn't eliminate the noise entirely. the absence of air conditioning meant the window needed to stay open for ventilation.
